what’s the last thing you wrote in your notes app?
I must confess that my use of the notes app is psychotic and I hope they never get hacked because it’s a mix of lists, journal entries and high thoughts. My most recent note just says “The secret is” and then a plot thread for this scifi novel idea I'm "writing" about brain-computer interfaces and augmented reality. I love science fiction, but not so much the actual science, more how it changes people’s behavior. I like the melodrama of it.
Writing is in quotes because I am not actually writing, I just think about it a lot. It’s kind of like playing Barbies, but in your mind.
rose / bud / thorn
Rose: My best friend, who rudely moved away, is in town for five days and I’m smothering her with love. Also, I got to eat Buffalo Wild Wings this week.
Bud: I’ve made two really important friendships with queer women of color my age. Besides having a lot of fun with them, it’s been validating and I’m learning a lot.
Thorn: The dog I got for my anxiety and loneliness is also anxious so she hates going outside and often refuses to go to the bathroom. This week, she left a little poop coal on my bed. We’re still fighting about it.

I’m easily talked into shenanigans. Or is it that I am extremely allergic to being earnest? Or maybe it’s my ability to spiral into calculating all possible outcomes out of sheer anxiety?

But seriously, I think I’m very self aware, which means I’m confident in who I am. I have a strong point of view, and I like people who are like that too. And that makes me really fun, because I don’t take myself seriously. My favorite thing is to bring fun and joy and affection to my people.

I’m looking for playful people of any gender - really I want to enjoy getting to know someone and spend fun quality time. I like people who are passionate, can be silly and who are affectionate (because I am).
