what’s your superpower?
No matter where I am, I always find the cool/unique/hyperlocal thing to do. Sometimes due to extensive research, other times just going with the flow and always saying yes. My most recent moment came after stumbling upon a show in downtown LA featuring a McDonald’s themed Black Sabbath cover band called “Mac Sabbath”. The merch alone was worth going for, but seeing a fully costumed Grimace shred on bass all night is what made it really memorable.
what are you looking forward to?
We are fast approaching my favorite time at the Union Square farmers market. That perfect time after ramp season starts, where there’s a different spring veg like asparagus, puntarelle or snap peas popping up every week. The beginning of the berry season, specifically tristar strawberries, is a cherished time, and hopefully leads to another twinnies event with my twin, former hot single citi bike boi.
Not having to worry about a coat check or carrying my jacket at a show is a big spring/summer plus. Got extra tix to see Built to Spill and Femi Kuti if anyone is interested.
Seinfeld night at the Brooklyn Cyclones is something me and my friends look forward to every summer. It’s the kind of niche sports promotion night I live for. The mascot wears a puffy shirt and there’s an Elaine dancing contest at the end of game, IYKYK.
😈 what’s your toxic trait?
While I think I order the perfect amount of food at dinner, I actually order enough food for a large extended family. I love getting the servers approval of my order, and will usually ask if they think we need to add/subtract anything. When they say, “nah, that’s a killer order,” I’m on cloud 9. But when they suggest it’s a little light or an odd selection, I begin to question everything I know to be true in the world.
🥵 what makes you hot?
I’m a classically trained chef, who’s worked in Michelin starred restaurants, but now has a corporate chef gig developing healthy bowls at your favorite salad chain with normal monday-friday hours. So you get all the benefits of a private chef boyfriend without the crazy hours and schedule.
I can grow a handlebar mustache extremely quickly and wear it incredibly well.
I’m in both the Rancho Gordo bean club AND the Burlap & Barrel spice club.
