tell us about a subculture or community you’re part of and how you got involved
I’m an artist who’s made a career of talking about feelings and in the process I hope to inspire self-reflection in others. As goofy as it sounds, I truly believe that you can see the right thing at the right time and go on to make a shift. I want my work to resonate with others in the way that art has moved me since I was a teen with a PostSecret addiction. I cohost a grief group (The Dead Parent Club), wrote a book about mental health, and I’m always chasing after something new and exciting.
what have you changed your mind about?
Putting myself out there! I used to think it was really corny to speak up, raise your hand, participate, or even dream. But the more therapy and introspection I’ve done, the more I’ve realized that caring is very cool. Insecurity holds you back from having fun and being weird. Now I love to let my guard down. I am the type of person who will scream at the top of their lungs while walking Jacob Riis in the dead of winter, ask out my friend’s single brother, or check to see if someone crying on their stoop is ok.
😈 what’s your toxic trait?
I watch an ungodly amount of TV. But I make my best drawings while watching, so it pays off. Favs include The Real Housewives, Bojack Horseman, a Bee Gees documentary—I’m always open to recommendations.
🥵 what makes you hot?
I love to get vulnerable. It’s not for everyone (it used to not be for me!) but I’ve grown a lot and I want to get deep with you. I mean what I say and I’m not afraid of the uncomfortable. Also I’m fat and happy
🔎 who are you looking for?
A progressive adult man who loves to laugh. Someone who is ready for a relationship if the compatibility is there. Please appreciate art, dogs, Euphoria, bowls of pasta, therapy and the beach. Must want to procreate someday.
