tell us about a book / movie / song / piece of media or art that changed your life

A book that changed my life was Baldwin’s ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’. It was my first Baldwin read (sue me) and the first time that I cried reading a book. Conveying the relationship of a black child and his mom through Baldwins' lens put so many of my own feelings from childhood into words for me. The part in the kitchen with John and his mom and the birthday money? Water works.

what question are you trying to answer most in your life right now?

The burning question for me particularly at my age is how to find ways to keep my inner child at play. Change is a constant and I’ve been trying to navigate how to stay a student (who dislikes school). Whether it's playing in the dirt (my plants), picking up a new book, puzzling, riding my bicycle, a skateboarding career cut short by injury, or going outside and eating fruit in the sun. I feel like the pandemic started a second childhood of sorts where me and a few of my friends were forced to 'go outside and play' and it really shifted the dynamic of work/life for me.

After thorough polling, my toxic trait is the big 3 of my horoscope (Sag sun, Scorpio moon, Gemini rising). Do what you will with that info.

Absence of shame, truthfulness, most of the pants in my closet, and my embrace of the masculine and feminine traits that exist within us all.
