the definitive guide to being hotter
become a patron of hot singles
i started hot singles out of pessimism towards the apps, but optimism towards people. i think even the people with the worst hinge profiles have something interesting to say. so i created a format to bring out the hot (and the endearingly toxic) in everyone.
it has been heartening to see the response: from the press, to the growth of the newsletter, to the thousands of replies i’ve received to these emails. i’ve had the pleasure of running into people on hot singles dates in the wild. there’s even a hot singles couple about to celebrate their one year anniversary. what makes this thing great is how all of you contribute to it!
enough waxing poetic though, i’m sending you this email because i have a request. i spend a good chunk of time on this every week–it has sort of become my unpaid internship… but i think people should get paid for their work, so why am i not charging for mine? if you love hot singles and want to support making dating fun and funny with a hint of earnestness, you now have the option to pay for it:
i’m keeping all posts free for now, but i’ll let you in on a little secret: it’s hot to pay people for their work. still not convinced? i’ll sweeten the deal… if you send me 5 bucks a month (or $50/year), i’ll throw in a google maps list of date spots curated by the famous hot singles themselves:
if you’re a diehard fan and want to support even more, for $200/year you’ll get (1) the warm and fuzzy feeling of supporting the arts and (2) a one-hour call with me where you can ask me questions, complain to me about your dating life, or sit in silence <3
thanks for reading and for supporting hot singles. i really appreciate all of you, whether you decide to pay or not. it will never stop being cool to me that this many people have rallied around making dating fun.
we’re back tomorrow with the classifieds as usual (submit one!)
