anyway, this week’s hot single goes crazy… in the margins… of books about 20th century US history. all that reading can make somebody hungry, so our history buff fuels his habit with trader joes snacks packed into his foldable rolling shopping cart. he’s looking for a lady to build a loving relationship. reply if that’s you :)

tell us about a subculture or community you’re part of and how you got involved
The Robert Caro Fan Club. I’m a huge 20th century US history buff and Caro is a legend to history nerds. Last summer, I read his four-book epic on Lyndon Johnson and was obsessed. My family teases me for lugging these enormous books to the beach and underlining and writing notes in the margins of them all. The Power Broker–Caro’s book about about master builder Robert Moses and the history of New York City–was my winter project. I love how old school Caro is: he writes longhand, uses a typewriter, and wears a jacket and tie to his office. He’s free of distraction and totally focused on his craft. Goals.
what’s something you can’t live without?
My foldable shopping cart for Trader Joe’s. I find grocery shopping to be a chore (I write about it for my job and am tired of it by the weekend), but I bought the cart last year and it’s been a game changer. Now I can buy all of the peanut butter granola, honeycrisp apples, and sea salt brownies I want without having the bags break on the way home. You can find me most Saturday mornings happily rolling along.
😈 what’s your toxic trait?
I’m a ruminator. If something is bugging me, it’s hard for me to get it off my mind. Classic New York Jew. Working on it with my therapist and meditating!
🥵 what makes you hot?
I’m an original. Funny, outrageous, and irreverent. I know I can be ridiculous and I have a sense of humor about myself. But I’m also curious, empathetic, sensitive and socially conscious. I love to hang out with my friends but also spend time by myself reading, exercising, listening to podcasts (Dan Harris and Ezra Klein especially), journaling, going for walks in the park and watching the sunset.
🔎 who are you looking for?
Looking for the right romantic partner to share, laugh, cry and grow with. Someone who knows herself, wants to share that with another person, and is interested in working together to create a supportive and loving relationship. Together we could go to the park and read/take a nap, go to museums and concerts, push each other to try new things and see new places, watch documentaries and HBO prestige dramas, and hang out with close friends.
