what is your go-to party trick?
Pretty much whenever I’m out people ask me to take their photo, which I’m happy to do. A few years ago, I was hanging out with my friend and he busted out his mom’s old Minolta. After feeling the weight of the camera in my hands and eventually seeing the scans of the few frames I shot I was hooked. I did some rummaging in my mom’s basement and I found a camera of my own (a Pentax z20 for anyone interested) and now you’ll rarely see me without one. I also used photography to partially sustain me during the heart of the pandemic. So even though at night the flash is pretty blinding, I think people appreciate it in the end.
who is your alter ego and when do they come out?
I learned how to knit from my math teacher Mrs. Sprinkle in 6th grade and I’ve been a grandma ever since. Even after playing college basketball with professional aspirations and later channeling that competitive energy into powerlifting/olympic weightlifting, I still have grandma-like tendencies. For one, when I’m watching tv, cooking or am in any moment where my hands are free, I’ll knit to pass the time. I also frequently hand out what I make as gifts for special occasions even though periodically it’s met with some disappointment. The icing on the cake is that I’m typically in bed and asleep by 10pm and wake up at ungodly hours almost every day. As a result of the physical tax that comes with playing basketball at various levels of competitiveness for nearly two decades and lifting heavy weights frequently, the texture of my hands now also resembles that of one of your grandparents. My hips, knees, and ankles could also possibly benefit from a walker. So, both through my knitting and gym hobbies, I’ve developed the temperament and touch of an old lady… who can also deadlift 560 pounds.
😈 what’s your toxic trait?
At times my social battery can resemble that of a 5 year old apple product.
I compare everything to San Francisco. I’m sorry.
🥵 what makes you hot?
I actually believe I can learn anything. During quarantine I taught myself my current career (with help from some great friends along the way) and as a result I’ve become something of a sponge. So please talk to me about literally anything that excites you!
I laugh at pretty much everything. Like belly laugh. I’ve been told its infectious.
I squat 4 days a week.
🔎 who are you looking for?
A woman who is looking for something more casual, but willing to explore more if it seems right. Someone who has their own interests, ambitions, and life, but who’s down to share part of that with me.
