what have you learned recently?
I wanted to learn skills to help me be my authentic self in a corporate environment, and I heard deep acting really helps with emotional fatigue from Adam Grant’s WorkLife podcast. So, I signed up for a local acting class. Little did I know it was gonna become my new thing–I’ve been taking lessons ever since. I like that it is a place where being my authentic self is fully embraced. It is a good catharsis and also gets me out of my head and inside my body. The low pressure environment with no judgement is something I enjoy about performance art.
tell us about a subculture you’re involved with
Hardware hacking. I went to Parsons and learned how to make things with Arduino and I love any kind of opportunity to pick up a soldering iron and build something.
what are your predictions for the coming months and years?
Corona will be our lifestyle for the next 5 years
There will be more small communities with niche cultures
what hill do you die on?
Authenticity - I’d die before conforming to something I don’t believe in. It is exhausting to do anything out of obligation. Having to fit into a mold has never been appealing to me, so working a corporate job has been difficult and essentially against my beliefs. Acting class helps!

Short fuse. At least it’s for good causes!
